The PetNodex feature guide

Small tasks.
A lot less to keep in your head.

Find the right record, keep track of care, and prepare for what comes next. Here’s how the latest tools fit into a real day with your pets.

Updated September 10, 2026 · In development

Screenshots are captured from the September 2026 iPhone build using fictional pets and example records. Percentages, amounts, and care entries illustrate the interface.
01 · A dedicated health space

Walk into the next appointment prepared.

Open Home → Health and choose a pet. The summary brings the latest health record and measurement into view, with direct routes to medication inventory, adherence, and a veterinary report.

  • Build a useful history. Record vaccinations, visits, treatments, diagnoses, lab results, allergies, dental care, and notes.
  • Watch measurements over time. Chart weight, height, length, wingspan, temperature, or body-condition score as appropriate for your pet.
  • Prepare a vet report. Generate a PDF on your device with profile information, health history, measurements, routines, reminders, and recent care, then choose where to save or share it.

Tap a pet’s circle on Home for the broader Overview and Profile, including important dates, emergency details, and general expiration reminders.

02 · Medication & shared care

Know what was recorded, and what is still due.

Open Home → Health → Medication Adherence. An enabled medication routine establishes the schedule; recorded care is compared with those expected doses over a 7- or 30-day period.

  • Read the dose status. See taken, due, missed, and upcoming doses, with the recorded caregiver’s name where available.
  • Review the shared care timeline. Filter medication or all care and see entries from you and permitted care-team members after synchronization.
  • Keep inventory up to date. Record stock, dose quantities, refill dates, and expiration dates. Logging a dose reduces stock and creates a care entry; undo is available for mistakes.
  • Plan refills. Set low-stock thresholds and refill dates. Refill dates can create reminders automatically.

The adherence summary uses scheduled routines and a two-hour completion window. It cannot verify that a dose was actually given and does not recommend medication or dosage. Follow your veterinarian’s instructions.

04 · Assistant, voice & Siri

Get help with the entry.
Keep the final say.

Open + → PetNodex Assistant to ask about saved records or prepare an entry. The assistant can draft reminders, care logs, expenses, measurements, and health records.

  1. 01Ask

Type a request or use supported voice input. For example, ask to log a walk for a named pet.

  2. 02Review

Check the proposed pet, date, record type, and details before anything is saved.

  3. 03Confirm & Save

Approve the entry explicitly. Cancel the proposal if it isn’t what you intended.

  4. 04Undo

Use the offered Undo action if you need to reverse the assistant’s saved entry.

Talk, type, or listen

Voice input uses supported on-device speech recognition. You can also listen to responses read aloud and revisit the local inquiry history.

Use Siri & Shortcuts

PetNodex exposes actions for care summaries and preparing supported records. Record-creation actions request confirmation before saving.

Check device support

The assistant requires an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone, Apple Intelligence enabled, and its model ready. Voice input needs microphone and speech permissions plus on-device recognition for the selected language.

Saved pet records are not sent to an external AI service for assistant answers. Review generated details for accuracy; the assistant is not a substitute for veterinary advice. Siri follows Apple’s own service settings.

05 · Smart document & receipt scanning

Turn a piece of paper into a record you can find.

Use Add Document → Scan Document for paperwork, or Add Expense → Receipt Available → Scan Receipt for a purchase. Text recognition happens on device and suggests relevant fields for your review.

  • For documents: review suggested title, issuer, document date, and expiration date when those details can be recognized.
  • For receipts: review the suggested merchant, amount, and date, then organize the expense under the right pet and category.
  • Keep the original with the record. Return to the attached file or receipt when you need the source details.

Scanning depends on camera availability and permission. Recognition can miss or misread text; check every suggested field before saving, especially totals and dates.

06 · Privacy Lock

Decide when your records are visible.

Open More → Privacy Lock and enable Require Authentication. iOS verifies your identity using its available authentication methods before PetNodex shows your records.

  • Choose a lock delay. Adjust when authentication is needed after you leave the app.
  • Shield the app switcher. A privacy cover hides the app’s contents as it leaves the foreground.
  • Authentication stays with iOS. PetNodex does not receive or store Face ID, Touch ID, or device-passcode data.

Widgets, notifications, Siri, exports, and records already shared with others have separate privacy settings. Privacy Lock protects access to the app on this device.

07 · Movement, routines & reminders

Make the walk count. Make the next task easier.

Open Home → Activity & Progress, choose your pet, and start a walk. Track active time, distance, pace, and route, with controls to pause, resume, finish, or discard. Reopen a saved walk from your history.

  • Choose your units. More → Distance Units offers automatic regional units, kilometers, or miles, with a preview. The preference also informs walk displays and companion data.
  • Review weekly progress. Explore sessions, active days, minutes, goals, and scheduled activity for each pet.
  • See an active walk at a glance. Live Activities and the Apple Watch companion provide supported controls and status while you’re moving.
  • Go straight to the reminder. Tapping a reminder notification opens its matching card so you can review or manage it.

Location is requested when you start a feature that needs it. Walk accuracy depends on the device and location conditions. Notifications and Live Activities depend on your iOS settings.

08 · Keep the whole picture

Records you can organize, share, and recover.

PetNodex keeps core information on your device and gives you explicit choices for moving it elsewhere.

Profiles & memories

Add a photo, breed, important dates, allergies, microchip and emergency details. Keep photos and videos in albums with browsing, selection, rename, sharing, and deletion controls.

Documents & safety

Organize insurance, vaccination, prescription, lab, registration, and other files. Prepare emergency cards with an offline QR code and use Lost Pet Mode to assemble recovery information.

Private financial records

Track expenses by pet and category, store receipts, set monthly budgets, and review spending analytics. Expenses, budgets, and receipts are excluded from care-team shares.

Optional iCloud sync

Enable or disable personal synchronization without restarting the app. Turning it off stops transfers and preserves your local records. Keep PetNodex updated on every device for compatible synchronization.

Portable backups & restore

Export records together with pet photos, album media, documents, and receipts. Preview a restore and choose whether to merge it with current data or replace the local store.

Recovery & maintenance

Archive pets or recover recent deletions while available. Background maintenance helps reconcile records and alerts; iOS chooses when it runs. Check its status under More → About PetNodex.
